Jimmy - I've asked - no begged - for the same thing for almost a year.

I think Novell wants to be the plumbing and let others worry about the features. Too bad - they could really create a solution based on all their plumbing. I could think of many small-to-medium sized companies who would love this type of package.

Let's not mention that in my eyes, this package would be a great ASP solution (providing hosted community services). Damn, I should keep that to myself :)

By the way - add file sharing to your list too (with a built-in virus scanner) :)

Regards,
Peter J Strifas

Jimmy.....

>>It would be nice if somebody could put all the packages together. A one stop Community Builder package.

I would want

- email support (including wireless)
- web development tools
- Audio/Video server
- Bulletin/Message board support. Something like "Ultimate Bulletin Board". If you haven't seen an example goto www.corvetteforum.com. Allows posters to post JPEG files.
- Chat
- IRC
- ECommerce, i.e. be able to securely sell products.

Maybe somebody has put it all together and I just don't know about it. If I was Novell I would keep ICS, EDirectory, dump everything else and do above.

How does their move to spin-off ICS impact this?
