I'm expecting a significant dropoff in the Naz, too. I see some fairly erratic, desperate-looking waves of buying come in whenever a few big-caps look like they're breaking down: CSCO, ORCL, and AMAT especially. I think DELL and AMAT are going to be rough conference calls -- I doubt either will be able to offer comfort in their near-term guidance. I have also felt, on a gut level only, that some foreign money is probably withdrawing from U.S. equities because of all this confusion over the election. To Americans, this is more or less a novel form of entertainment. But to people overseas, especially perhaps in Asia, which of course is quite heavily invested in the States, this has to look like something far more unstable and scary than it actually is.

I'm waiting for some talking head on TV to suggest that Bush concede the election, in light of the fact that Gore clearly covered the margin in Palm Beach County. It's interesting that Republicans dominate the election bureaus in Florida, but Florida's state Supreme Court is made up entirely of Democrats. It's only a matter of time before the legal process hits the high court . . . so let's get with it.

Depends totally on fundamental news on the election I think.

If we don't get resolution you might very well be right. I have cash ready to employ if we get there.
