If I scream "I don't love you anymore, you prick," at the UPS guy, he isn't going to be hurt I guess that would depend on how long and to what degree you were involved! If he was leaving a parcel at your door every week... So much truth to what you said. We are such fragile creatures. And we do so depend on others both to give and to receive love. We talk about unhealthy dependency, etc.; But there isn't any couple, truly in love, that do not rely on those reciprocal feelings of attachment, and loyalty, and dependability. Sharing ourselves with another is a huge human need--probably the most fundamental of all human needs--after mere staying alive...
