Bush has all kinds of problems with how he handled his Driving Under the Influence arrest in conviction in Maine. My view is the DUI didn't matter.

What did matter was the fact he used his voting aged children as an excuse for not telling the public he'd been arrested and convicted. Heck, his twin daughters, as voters, had a right to know he'd been arrested and convicted. And, yes, there were several forms which Bush left blank relative to the question of being accused and convicted. He also had the number of his Texas driver's license changed.

So it's my opinion Bush used his kids as a cover-up. That's bad. Real bad! And I think the reason he did this is because there's perhaps something more severe, not yet known, within his background and that divulging the DUI information might have opened the door to further press scrutiny.

I think it's important to consider that the follow up investigative journalism on this is still incomplete. Only by that incident, for example, did they learn who he was drinking with. Now, the press will contact the friends of who he was drinking with. Who knows? More could come out.
