you can stand all day by that proposition, but it still represents but one solution. one size does not fit all needs.

a single wcdma soltuion will not handle GSM and/or TDMA traffic without a daisy chained environment with subsystems that are scalable.

a tri-mode, or bi-modal wcdma solution needs no multiple housed delivery systems. this is more cost effective in the long run. NOK offers both solutions, but they remain the only company (along with IDCC) that is adding TDD to the a GSM form for a WCDMA delivery chipset. if you have access to the technical PDF formated papers on the NOK site you'll find some of these issues addressed there
