Its not my business, but as an Englishman living here and a passive observer I really don't understand that statement.

Nixon conceded the election to JFK even though he had a legitimate right to challenge the voter fraud going on in Chicago. He did it so the country could move on and put the election behind them even though his advisors and partisans in Illinois wanted him to fight.

Right now, Gore may face the same issue (Bush may face it if the recount goes against him), so we'll see if he puts himself ahead of the country even though it's obvious his advisors want him to challenge till the end.

I don't know what will happen, just putting out a possibility. I may be entirely wrong. It is just my opinion.
