re: "That's what I am saying. It was called Mustang before, I never heard of 'Palomino with large 2nd level cache for servers'."

I believe that a threat of a GM lawsuit for trademark infringement over the "Corvette" which was renamed to be one of the manifestations of the Palomino made AMD cautious about using what could be interpreted as someone else's trademark. Jerry now refers to the stable as AMD's ponies. Curious...since the Morgan was an unusual British sports car of the fifties that was known to be extremely competitive in price given its performance. It came with a choice of engines (from other manufacturers) the most common of which, I believe, was from Triumph. That car was about as comfortable to ride in as a brick but it did handle extremely well for its era. Also, frame rust was never a problem since it had a wood frame. (I suspect that termites and wood rot might have been other considerations.)

Patient Regards,

<Andreas: That's what I am saying. It was called Mustang before, I never heard of "Palomino with large 2nd level cache for servers".>

Well, Mustang is (also?) the name of the core that both the Palomino and Morgan processors will use. Then there was that strong hint from GM that they would rather prefer it, if they didn't use their trademarks (Corvette and Mustang). I can never remember these things, but maybe Mustang is Palomino and Corvette Morgan.
