John, Re: This is really going to get ugly now Agree but luckily as someone mentioned, no tanks on the street. It may have some political consequence for the next administration(whoever finally be the president), no blood shed(sans stock market). gary

I had asked my friend this same question and she said that things would be smooth sailing up until some date in December. (But I don't know how accurate this info is). From what I recall, Clinton is President until Jan 20. Until Jan 20th, there are well-defined steps that must be taken. However, I seem to recall there was some grey areas in the process if this extends to December (and most likely it would not). However, I don't know how they handle a law-suit. I mean, do they put Bush in the office on Jan 20, and if due process indicates Gore is the winner, do they replace Bush with Gore? I doubt it. I think whoever gets in, will stay there, regardless of a lawsuit. Regards, Amy J
