*What amazes me is that some people really want their 'guy' regardless of what voters say.
What's the harm of letting people vote for whom they want?
If these people re vote, they would merely vote their favorite.
Isn't that what's supposed to happen?
The idea is to have the person in office who more people want, is that too difficult to comprehend??

<Timothy- all I know is 4% to be disqualified shows that something was terribly wrong. Add another 3000 votes that went to Buchanan that probably should have gone to Gore. So much for the will of the people. So much for a legitimate election. But Bsuh will get the presidency, no matter how tainted it is. I guess that's all that counts. He'll be Preesident Bush even though he lost the popular vote and he would also have lost the college, were it not for those rediculous ballots. I'll still wait for the manual hand count, though. >

Nichols -

If this election is tainted, it is tainted by the incompetence of the Democratic party. I agree it is a shame that 19000 voices will not be heard. But if you look around the country, the number will be far greater. If the reports about this county having 15000 ballots thrown out in 1996 are true (I can't verify the veracity of this), then it is not an anomaly.

The assumption there, of course, is that the election was "perfect" except for those problems. We really don't know how many dead people voted or how many illegal immigrants voted. Both of those group typically go for the Democrats.
