>>>Do you truly believe that this(Palm beach) is the only precinct in America where voting irregularities(i.e. "errors") has occurred? I suggest if Palm beach votes again, then everyone votes again.<<<

Papaya--I'd actually favor a national re-vote. Doing it would help to end voter apathy and invigorate the political process in America and would ensure the president elected is in fact the president elected.

>>>How do you answer the FACT the the Palm beach ballot was used in the previous election without complaint by anyone?

Then this would explain why 15,000 votes were disqualified in the previous election. At that time, however, the difference was inconsequential. You do admit, don't you, that this time the stakes are a bit different, that the presidency itself hinges on the Year 2000 consequence? Having political experience of my own as an elected official, I do know that if the error has no effect on the results then the error itself is discounted, i.e., moot.

>>>This time the ballot was published in the paper for public review and approved by the Democratic Party prior to being implemented.<<<

The sample ballot that was distributed did not include the punch holes. Yes, there was an arrow. But there was also a long and distinct boldface line, with the name Democrat printed underneath it, pointing directly toward the Buchanon punch-hole.

Again, whoever devised the ballot did not know what they were doing was illegal. Florida law states the candidate's check mark/punch-hole must be to the right of the candidate's name.
