I too, have several "closed" accounts -- Datek, Morgan Stanley Online (formerly Discover),Vanguard, Ameritrade, Fidelity -- that won't seem to die on their own. I am actually timing them to see which one hold out the longest.

Say, I bet the press would be interested to learn that there are only really 1,247 traders in the world that make up the entire online brokerage account list. :-)

What you should have done was buy something on margin. That would have zeroed it out toot sweet. <G>
