AMD does not have to be the MHz leader all the time to make money, the main thesis is that AMD can offers price/performance and make money for the foreseeable quarter or two or three, so what they may have push out 1.5GHz to Q2 (we don't know that for sure yet, but I am not obsessed with that even before today's conference), come Q1 AMD will be in position to capture the low end (Duron with UMA) and at least half of the high end, I see 1.2GHz at speed parity with P4 1.5GHz, I don't think P4 volume will be much of a threat for the next 3-4 months minimum, even that AMD will still offer price/performance, 1.3GHz Palomino in Q1 01 will be smaller core cheaper to make and uses less power, and laptop capable (Hello), may not beat up coming P4 1.7GHz in Q1/Q2<?>, but AMD will still make good money, will still make good money, will still make good money....
