Terry -

...GOP rebuttal on TV just shot holes in the weak demo case. I'm no lawyer, but I don't think there's any way for them to pull this out on a technicality. ...

Just to document that from memory -

1. The same Palm Beach county in 1996 had about 14K votes disqualified for double counts, so this year's 19K is not out of line at all.

2. Palm Beach county DOES in fact have a large number of Reform Party registrations, leading to 3K+ Buchanon votes. From 1996, Reform Party registrations in Palm Beach county were up about 130% from 1996. This compares to about up 38% state wide. A large proportion of the Reform Party contributions come from this county as well, so assigning Buchanon votes to Gore is utterly off the wall.

3. Similar butterfly ballots have been used for years in Chicago's Cook county, so calling this un-democratic is ingenuous, to say the least.

Regards, Don

About daytrading this mess...

Yes Terry, I am most happy when there is volatility. I spend a good deal of time studying the larger picture to give me a bias, but what I need is volatility.
