He REALLY would have looked stupid if Gore had ended up winning Florida. And given the numbers out there, Gore still has a chance, albeit remote.

Again, why couldn't he at least wait?

Is it possible, given the mental accuity of our populace, that any voting system can be made idiot proof. The error rate appears consistant in PB county with 1996. What are typical error rates in other places? Maybe the spoil rate is one of those dirty little secrets we hear about.
