Chung Lee:

AMD's performance, on either an isolated basis or a relative basis, provides cause to sing their praises...

Reaffirmation of $4.8 billion in Y2000 revenues is especially comforting as it supports 8 to 9 million microprocessors, primarily Athlons, in Q4. That fab30 is producing 80% of its microprocessors at greater than 1 gig is not too shabby and sets up a potentially outstanding Y2001 when the expected flood in upgrade demand occurs bumping ASP's well above $90. Not to mention flash, flash and more flash demand through to Y2002...

Revenue growth of 22% in Y2001 is, I'd guess, the worst case scenario, which if i'm right on that, is an outstanding low water mark...Personally, assuming increasing ASP's and increasing market share, both highly likely assumptions based on current AMD price/performance leadership across all PC price ranges, AMD has a realistic shot at 40% revenue and earnings growth in Y2001...Nothing presented today debunks the possibility of such an outcome next year!!!
