WAKE UP GEORGE

We've just gotten a tremendous gift from Novell. The 80/20 deal means that the spin-off will have a number of advantages for Novell share-holders.

First, that 20% represents investors that will not live with anything less that GOOD MANAGEMENT. So we just lost Stewart Nelson and all of the other Novell managers that have had a hard time understanding the internet infrastructure market. What we have gained is a start up company in a critical position in a new industry that is just happening.

The new company has a year or so worth of cash. That means they have to shape up and grow at a tremendous rate. New executives are going to be coming into this company to get the company moving forward.

In fact there is plenty of reason to beleive that Volera will immediately become the new pretty girl in school, everyone will want a date with her.

As a merger candidate, Volera comes with the best technology Novell has and with Drew Major. This is a diamond in the rough.

Spin Off Motivations.....

>>I like this move. They could have come up with a better name but I'll take it right now. And I sure would love to get some shares but don't bank on it.>>

Novell should spin off ICS/Volera to existing shareholders.

Then the new management should work a plan of action which dilutes these originating shareholders while bringing in new, outside shareholders and capital.

How Novell goes about doing this will speak volumes to validate and contradict Nelson's "what's in it for me/us" insiders mentality.

IMHO, Novell is being spun-off and broken up for the exclusive benefit of insiders FIRST and everyone else a far distand LAST.

This is the pattern which perfectly matches Stewart Nelson's ACTIONS to place himself first and other Novell employees and shareholders last.

If Novell shareholders are going to simply sit by and buy this BS then we deserve everything we are getting.

Which will be nothing.

Period.

JMHO

Peace.

GO!!

The article on Network World's website says that Drew Major is going with Volera. Good thing or bad thing?

I've also heard that an announcement is coming next week...

Volera....

Hmmmm didnt some of us on this board suggest earlier this year that the Caching component should be spun off? Uhhmmm, May/June I believe?

I think its a good move. Paul, will this company IPO?

Good to see. I hate to say it but taking Novell's name off this product line will likely give the caching product that extra booast. I think the OEM's that use ICS will now become more public about the company that makes it. I heard that some OEMs would rather not associate this powerful product with the company that makes it for fear of losing some sales. Proof is in the pudding. How much bragging have you heard from Compaq, IBM, Dell, etc. on their implementation of ICS.

This is not a slam in any way, its just that Novell's name in the industry does not attract customers like moths to a flame - so why mention it if it can be hidden?

Good Move Novell!
