OT Someone pointed out earlier that his concession may have been as much a question of Nixon's own political pragmatism as it was altruism. His track record during all of his election campaigns was less than stellar. "Tricky Dicky" was a moniker he earned long before Watergate, and with good reason (and he wasn't even a Democrat!!! <ggg>).

Had the following conversation with a Mexican immigrant today (fargone AIDS, never sought medical help).

Him: "What do you think about this president thing?"
Me: (Throw my hands up, smile)
Him: "I don't think Gore is the man."
Me: "Why's that?"
Him: "If he can't admit that he's lost, how can he be the president?"
