Thanks D,

I appreciate your views on this interesting dilemma. I agree with your take.

I'm a registered Independent and really don't hold any affection for either of the major parties. As far as I'm concerned, I kind of hope that the whole national election process will be scrutinized. I think BOTH parties will end up with egg on their faces. The whole system of nominating the major party candidates appears to be controlled to a large degree by powers that certainly don't lie in the hands of the common folk. The millions spent on these campaigns and the way that BOTH parties raise and spend money, is a national embarrassment. The way they will probably sling mud at each other as this mess gets sorted out will also probably be a national embarrassment, but with some entertainment value :).

The concept of a Democracy is a fine concept, the practice leaves something to be desired in this wonderful but imperfect country.

I agree, the ballot in PB county was questioned early and often.....it certainly could have been handled better. I'm curious about how deep and how sleazy the whole vote making and counting process is nationally? Let them expose the truth.

Since you were brave enough to state who you voted for, I will say that I did vote for one of the major party candidates. A lesser of two evils in my mind. It's been a few decades since I've felt very good about voting for one of the major party candidates.

Again thanks for your intelligent post.
