Cry me a river. I don't have a Senator.

I, in effect, will not have a president. I will be president-less.

this is not directed to you personally as i do not know you-
but imo the correct response to those oh-so underprivledged and community-minded celebrities like Alec Baldwin say that if Bush is elected they will have to pack up and leave the country?
GOOD_BYE and don't let the door hit ya on the way out...
i think celebrity endorsements and whinings are a joke.

Or maybe I could pick someone else, like Jesse Ventura or Hillary Clinton,

Yeah, flap, now you're talking. Jesse as Prez and Hillary as VP, or vice versa. Brilliant. A wrestler and a crook. If it's going to be bizarre, don't pull any punches.

Look in the mirror when you wonder why the world often laughs at us.

Since any patriotic American would abide by the legally arrived at results, I can only surmise that there will be no real problem. I am assuming, after all, that Gore supporters are patriotic Americans.......

... and if after the votes are counted and recounted, the courts do something strange to steal the election, then I won't have a president. I will support the winner of the votes as cast. While it comes as no surprise to me that the country has no reached the stage that our President will be determined by lawyers instead of vote, it will be a travesty.

I can see it now. In the Super Bowl, both teams will be given balls to approve, but then after the game is played the losing team will determine that the weight of the ball was too heavy for specifications and the courts will rule that a lighter ball would have traveled further, and the interception at the end of the game was actually a completion, thus reversing an outcome. Eventually it will no longer be necessary to actually play the games....
