Markets Dropped after the Fla. Sec. of State news conference because the media had hyped it all day as a definitive event. It was not. She explained that the State would not be certifying any vote until the military vote was received until November 17 and that the counties did not have to submit final recounts for certification until Nov. 14. Market decline is explained because an announcement of the end of the recount would pressure a concession by someone and bring more certainty to the issue. The Fla. Sec. of State basically left it up in the air for at least another week perhaps, at least as counting in Fla. is concerned.

Also btw, it is true over 1 million absentee ballots have not been counted out here in CA yet. As we know, absentee ballots are often a higher % of Republican votes. Gore won 54% of the vote on election day out here in CA, but 1 million is a lot of votes, enough to sway the balance. It was very interesting to see the Sec of State out here asking that no winner be called in CA yet, very interesting.
