Peter, Hammer will be sampling in Q4 at 2Ghz IMO. I think AMD is being very conservative on dates.

Why push hard when you T-bird at 1200Mhz is beating P4 at 1500Mhz?

peter,

I have to admit that I am quite worried about the 1.5 GHz delay. It will come out right before Intel will introduce its 0.13 nm versions. And their 0.18 nm processors are already scheduled to reach 2 GHz. So what will AMD have in the second half of 2001 to compete with Intel? Will 2H 2001 be just ugly?

Expect AMD to be on par with Intel for the .13u switch. Siegel hinted us about that saying : "AMD typically switch to new process quicker thant Intel (read AMD is more flexible and as aggressive as Intel)".

Intel officialy said no more than y'01 ofr .13u
We may see a few mobile cumines in the begining of Q3 but it will be in rather low volume at the beginning. I expect P4 to be put on .13 during end Q3 for output in Q4 btu again, it will be as available as .18 cumimes were available last year... not really.

Calm down :-), how much do you think you will have to pay for a 2 GHz P4 vs a 1.5 GHz DDR Palomino? Let's not get carried away with obsession of being the MHz number leader, give some credit to price/performance, so far AMD has done good based on that, even without Duron-UMA, by then $699 Morgan 900 MHz-UMA based PC will be the low end solution.
