Mogul,

now 225 votes left..... in 65/67 counties.... GO Big AL!!!

Like you, I voted for Gore. However, unlike you I take the present situation to be a very serious and sober matter and I don't think it is appropriate, even if this were the Al Gore thread, to be acting as a mindless cheerleader. This is not like watching our favorite stocks yoyo up and down. This is the future of our nation being decided here and I believe we owe it to ourselves to do it as sober, thoughtful and at this point non-partisan adults. The election is over. All we need do now is sort out what it is that we decided. Please don't provide the GOP wingers any more ammo to snicker at the childishness of their opponents.

Re: Oregon - Most of the late votes in Oregon will be coming from Multnomah county. The reason this one can't be called is because of some counties down near Medford and Grant's Pass not fully reported. However, statistically, it is more likely than not that Bush will not catch up from here forward.

Re: Washington - The absentee ballots yet to be counted are predominantly from King County. This is a strongly Democratic area so the likelihood is that Stade Gorton's lead will greatly diminish if not be eliminated on Saturday. I've no idea why it should take so long to get the absentees counted there, if anyone from Washington state has information on the process I would like to hear how the system works up that way. Thanks.

Best, Ray
