Yes, I completely agree. We all agree that the voting process must be transparent and unbiased. Tests for significance should easily be able to show if the errors were indeed random or if they were biased to a high degree of confidence. I do not think that people calling for this sort of test are acting out of bounds, it is a natural path one would take IMHO.
