Even if they can get together, it won't bode well for the "winner". See my post re: the relationship between close elections and Presidential clout/staying power.

I just thought of something.

If Bill Clinton had taken a far more active role in the campaign, one thing is for sure...the election would NOT have been close.

Either he would have alienated Gore supporters or he would have brought Gore more votes.
