Look this is where we have a huge problem. Would you say that Buddha was weak-minded ? How about Ghandi ? What about Einstein ? Einstein rejected the Christian religion but loved Eastern philosophy. The search for truth that has spurred some of the greatest philosophical debates and thinkers from Plato to Mills cannot be called weak-minded.
I think that there is to much fear over the religious right. Most conservatives today tend to be libertarian. At least thats who I run into. Saying that COnservatives are defined by the religious right is like saying that Democrats are defined by the radical gays.
