I wrote this earlier on this thread, and I'll keep repeating it as food for thought:

"Do you wish for Mr. Bush to assume the presidency on the strength of a mistake by a poll worker, this after losing the national popular vote?"

And it's not just the nation watching...it's the whole world watching. Will America pride itself as a democracy by allowing the clear loser of its national election to emerge as victor? How would other nations perceive this? How would this help to build stronger democracies elsewhere in the world?

Indeed, Mr. Bush, under the circumstances, should hold his head high and concede Florida's electoral college votes to Mr. Gore.
