TraderGreg

One of the few opinions of yours on this thread that I fully agree with:

You know why I hate that phrase? It reminds me of the phrase, "this isn't personal, it's business."

In both cases, the POS uttering the phrase has their own Agenda and is lying thru their teeth.

Greg,

Whenever I hear a partisan say, " For the good of the Country, Mr. [whoever] should step aside"

You know why I hate that phrase? It reminds me of the phrase, "this isn't personal, it's business."

Well said, sir.

And this instance is no different. On the Gore side, the AFL-CIO will simply not allow the Vice-President to graciously step aside. With the Delay-Lott-Armey dominated Congress facing the prospect of winning majorities in both houses and a compliant executive, the prospects for serious damage to be done to federal labor law is far too real. The Black caucus know with dreaded certainty that a Bush administration aims to turn the clock back on affirmative action and other social programs. The trial lawyers know that tort reform is part of the Bush agenda. Impossible to imagine litigators not fighting to the bitter end. It's all about money, who gets it, and how, in the final analysis.

On the GOP side, the corporate interests are lined up for regulatory relief and relief from those pesky trial lawyers. And the federal acquiescence to the right-to-work philosophy of the southern states.

This is a battle that won't be graciously resolved before all possible remedies at law are explored. This civics lesson is only beginning.

And this time it's both. It is personal and it is business.

Trader guy, you are wise beyond your years...
(whatever they are). <g>

Gotta go, as dinner is ready.
Same old, same old...pork n' beans as usual,
due to the market this year...
and a few positions held way WAY too long. <g>

And heck, after this friggin (can I say that on SI) election,
it looks like we'll be down to just the beans (w/o the pork) for a while...
but COSTCO has some great prices,
if you buy huge bags of them by the truckload.

Keep up the great work you're doing
informing us all on this Electoral College stuff...
and Happy Trading...Greg!

Roger

PS. Also gotta get back to my "new" day job, designing voting ballot forms. Still working on what to name them, but have definitely ruled out "butterfly." Hope to make a small fortune at it, well before the next national election. :)
