Brian, In all fairness to the huge number of whiners on the Democratic side, I believe the Republicans will also go to court should Gore prevail in Florida. You must recall that a giant percentage of politicians in either camp are trained as attorneys. This is what they live for - litigation.

As a personal aside, my mother is 66 years old and an immigrant from Eastern Europe. She learned to speak and read English after the age of 30, which is difficult. The 2000 election was her first time voting and we had the butterfly ballot here in many Illinois precincts. The ballot is exactly like Palm Beach County. She had no problem with the ballot.

I think the worst part if this fiasco is that regardless of who wins, half the population will feel the presidency is illegitimate.

Anyway, I shall endeavor to refrain from all political discussions for a while. They are seriously getting in the way of making a living.

the needs of the Country over personal ambitions.

Brian you are not thinking clearly.

IF Bush is not sworn in he is still Governor of Texas with a very healthy paycheck.

Cheny goes back to the oil patch and gets brand new sign up bonus larger than his departing bonus.

Leiberman (if he does not become VP) goes back to the Senate and pontificates obscure problems like how to get on the nightly news more often.

Gore, if not sworn in become homeless (having been rejected by his home state). The unemployment benefits in DC are just not enough to mount a new campaign for the presidency in 2003.

Brian, Ya gotta start thinking your suppositions through.

Jerome :-)
