There you go again. Making claims which are unsupported. Non-registered voters voted in Missouri for 3 hours after the polls were suppoed to be closed. if that was the case, the republicans would have been all over this and don't tell me that they are above the frey. They lost Ashcroft and if this happened as you said it did, there would be criminal investigations going on right now.

Make up some more facts for this thread. This has been most amusing

>> I had a long talk with a friend of mine from Jupiter, the northernmost area of Palm Beach County. He indicated the ballot was not the best, not the worst. He also said there was a large sign in each booth about asking questions if anything wasn't clear and getting a new ballot if you made a mistake.

Fwiw, Cooters, I'm somewhat familiar with the area. Jupiter is where the rich folk live, and I doubt that their situation is representative. My mom lives in a retiree area of the county, and the folks manning the polling booth weren't as proactive.

Cooters - I'm just catching up. How could non-registered voters vote? Here in NYC even the NY Times is calling for responsible action by Gore and questioning the current course. This is now about personalties and egos and Al Gore, trained from birth as a political animal with anamistic reactions, to win at all costs, relies on Bill Daley, a scion of the family that defined 20th Century Chicago machine politics to guide his challenges to Palm Beach County ballots. Senator Ashcroft epitomizes gentlemanly conduct, and he had about the best case imaginable. Al Gore seems psychologically incapable of similar action. America's welfare is being challenged. As a Bush supporter, I want to believe that he would withdraw if the results were reversed, but... Can we take 10 more days of absentee overseas ballot counting, and then litigation which perhaps can only be resolved by the Supreme Court? Should I fear for the Republic? John
