The Canadian Perspective:

- early Tuesday evening: Networks give Florida to Gore

- late Tuesday evening: Networks retract, Florida race not yet over.

- 3:00 AM Wednesday: I wake up (I sleep with TV on, my wife hates that) to hear CNN proclaim Bush as the NEW PRESIDENT.

- 4:00 AM Wednesday: I wake up again, this time networks give Gore the lead. (I thought I was watching "As The Stomach Turns" from the old Carol Burnett show).

- Early Wednesday morning: Learn that a recount would take 3 days (Why did it take only 3 hours the night of the election?)

- Late Wednesday morning: I learn that 19,000 voters voted for Buchanan thinking he was Gore.

- Wednesday Noon: Buchanan goes on the air and tells America that he is not Gore.

- Wednesday afternoon: Gore sues, markets plunge.

- Wednesday evening: We are told that we must wait for votes from military forces overseas which were "mailed" in (Why mail them, due to the urgency couldn't they stuff them in a Jet or at the very least send them by Fedex?)

- Early Thursday morning: I just woke up, recovered from one heck of a hangover from last Saturday's party and just realized that this couldn't have been an American election, it must have been an election from BANGLADESH that I just experienced.

No more of that Italian grappa (moonshine)for me.
