I also believe Buchanan got about 20,000 votes in 1992.

The 1996 vote for Buchanan was in the Republican primary. In the current election, the Republican voters did not split their vote, they went almost entirely for Bush.

Buchanan has stated that some of the votes that he received belonged to Bush.
