It starts with the Voters News Service. Why the networks blindly follow everything they say is beyond me. It seemed that people who were following along on the internet were following a different election than the one on TV.

I don't think Lieberman gave Gore that much of a boost. Bush's numbers were artificially high, and Gore announced his pick for VP shortly before the convention, when a spike in his numbers is expected anyway. Lieberman was seen as a bold pick, so Gore may have gotten points for doing something out of the ordinary.

I agree that the circus we're seeing now is an effort to de-legitimize a Bush presidency before it gets started.
