Hi Carolyn,

As far as the country is concerned, we have plenty of time for this to try to sort itself out. It would be viewed by Rehnquist as being extremely premature to get involved at this point. They won't life a finger before the second week in December. We are in for a protracted battle, I'd think. There is enough legitimacy to the Democratic claims to "irregularities" that they will prove intractable in giving up with court intervention. There really only is one way, AFAIK, for this to be resolved before December 18. That is for the two camps to jointly create the agenda for the country for the next couple of years behind closed doors. Basically, permitting Bush to get a portion of his stimulative tax cut and gaining a commitment by the GOP to keep their hands off labor law and affirmative action. I'd think Gore could negotiate away MSFT, and my fondest hope is that Medicare isn't expanded to provide the drugs entitlement. That's just such a suck-hole for money it's unbelievable.

Whatever happens, it won't be solved on the streets of West Palm Beach.

In the meantime, this is one of the best and least treacherous stock market opportunities of the year. If you are a bear.

This just in: Cuba views the ex-pats in Miami as the cause of great consternation for America, and is suggesting new elections and states it is willing to send neutral observers. No, I'm not making this up. :)

Regards, Ray
