Jill! Slow and Safe! They have to be at their year low right in here. Good move and you could pull a double with the right options. I had bought right in here before....sold them to do a little risky gambling. dealie

QQQ options move less than stocks, yes, and they keep their value until much closer to expiration, so they are easier to hold. On QQQ, I have Dec 90 calls that I am just holding. The QQQ trades at about 1/40 of the naz, so if the Naz gets to 3600 they will be ATM and I will close them out. I think that is a good bet at this point. Given all of the bad news already out there, I have to think that a post-election and christmas rally will easily hit 3600.

However, I am not doing any trading these days, there is too much uncertainty out there, and I would make too many mistakes. I'm just holding the few QQQ Dec 90s I have, but mainly I am in RMBS May 100s. I hope the election is decided by next May :-)

About throwing out NY military votes, or any absentee ballots, I can't imagine they would throw them out. However, if they would not make a difference in an election, maybe they are not counted in the final tallies. In the Florida case, there are about 7,000 out there still to come in (they might not all come in), so they should make a big difference. And the majority of those are expected to go to Bush.

Hi Jill, re qqq

I got burned last month with my covered calls, Some one,

Rocket man, I think, said and I quote, "Never be short a down market going into expirations". The quote is on my fridge. Got greedy, got caught.

This month going into expiration, I have gone long QQQ

Nov 74's, Nov 75,s , Dec 75,s and Jan 80's. Have been buying down for last 3 days.

I will see if being long a down market close to expirations
does any better.

If not then back to basics.

xxxxx
