I wasn't alive in 1960, but I know he fought it for quite a few weeks before 'gracefully bowing out'. <g>

Quite a few people felt cheated then, and quite a few will feel cheated now. They could be right. It's beyond me to judge it one way or the other. It won't change the outcome, however.

I believe that there may have been another reason.. it is widely believed that there was voter fraud on both sides... republicans downstate as well. I think he would have been claiming Daley cheated more [no doubt].
