Nope, not a threat. You've exposed your ignorance of the necessity for a microcellular architecture in order to maximize frequency reuse and provide a consistent high data rate for a large number of users simultaneously. This is required in order to support a truly broadband network.

The alternatives you quote will only be useful for snippets of data, such as text email or quick quotes. Nothing more.

There is a large market for a mobile broadband experience. Only the Metricom solution will provide it.

Glad to see you did a little homework. Go back and do some more.

Enjoy!

Goldfinger, care to elaborate? LOL! You are really showing your ignorance now. Read the Adventis Report - then come back and explain to us all why it's superior to MCOM's MCDN architecture. Sir, you'd better think about going long soon.

Let's view Goldfinger:

1XRTT = a "theoretical" maximum speed of 14.4kbps
EDGE = likely <128kbps; available 2002 or beyond.
Ricochet = 176kbps average download, available NOW

Which one would you choose??

If the financing comes through your whole cover is blown.
