I guess you don't get up to TN very often. If you did and talked to the folks, you would know that national party politics are alive and well there and that Republicans, as in most (all) Southern states are in the majority.

Bush was a TN congressman for awhile. He has been VP for 8 years. That's my point.

Seems to me that Clinton lost TN (and many other states) for Bush. That wasn't Bush's fault.
