It is quite possible that Dell has fallen back competitively behind the likes of Gateway (who has a different model), Compaq (who has more interesting products), and HP.

Dell growing at 20 percent instead of 27 for next year isn't that surprising, or necessarily the end of the world for these other companies.

Compaq did poorly as a stock for a long time even as Dell rose.

MSFT management was pretty confident just yesterday am at the annual meeting and market is focusing just on the silly election uncertainity and not fundamentals is strange.
