Of all the other poor analogies that have been made, athletics is the worst. The rules in athletics are designed so that decisions can be quickly and decisively. There are no appeals courts. Decisions of the refs are final. Moreover, everything needed to make a call in sports is visible tot he naked eye, not so in everyday life. Finally, sports rules can be contained in relatively small books. Our laws, and their interpretation, occupy thousands of volumes.

It would be a better world if life were as simple as a football game.

<<<<Not a good analogy.>>>>

It is an excellent analogy. Just because football is sporting event and not a political event is of no importance. An analogy is just that, an analogy. If it compared two like things it would not be an analogy. Trying to trivialize football as "just a sporting event", does not make the analogy weak, you are trying to make cloud issue.

If the electoral college is so bad, then why did Gore support it in a recent report from his campaign???

You don't need to bother to answer, since there is no legitimate retort.

It is a perfect analogy. the 50 million people knew how the game winner is to be decided before they voted.
