The Republicans have taken the high ground too many times, and the Democrats have proven they have no moral fiber...Look at the "now leader".

You hit it perfectly Rory...no one will take the high ground, unless they are ahead.

Fear not, things were much worse long ago. One of the reasons Burr and Hamilton had a duel was because Hamilton finally endorsed Jefferson in the 1800 election (the one that necessitated the 12 th amendment where electors vote separately for Pres and VP).
