The problem with the tax code is clear, it is so complicated it is open to interpretation. They might as well pull out bible scrolls and start quoting text in Aramaic.

I was executor of an estate. I made the mistake of paying out the estate prior to settling with RC. They disallowed all the deceased persons medical expenses from the U.S. I had the right to dispute it, but I had to pay $27,500 in tax right now. I said I did not have $27,500 and the lady suggested I go to the bank and borrow some money. I said I would pay in 30 days, they said give us a list of all your receivables personal and business. I refused and by a super human effort I rounded up the money within 30 days. I presented the holy cow with a cheque, she waved it under my nose and said "is this going to bounce?"

The medical expenses were called "crackpot treatment" by the holy cow. Even though the "crackpot treatment" was done at Scripps Clinic in California. I contested and within six months had all my money back. Since that time I have sought professional accounting advice.

My thoughts are this, I will vote for anyone who gets rid of the CBC, streamlines Revenue Canada by introducing a flat rate tax, and brings natives into society by partitioning reserves into individual band members ownership.
