Margin Metrics...

Thanks Tony.

I understand that Intel enjoys great margins in the server business. My point is that they maintain much higher margins in markets where they directly compete with AMD. This is where they are at risk. I agree that Intel will maintain higher overall ASP's due to their dominance of the server business and the laptop market. This is why AMD is starting to address these more lucrative areas. AMD's upcoming offerings in these Intel only territories will bring on even more margin pressure down the road for Goliath.

Tony, re:<<why is Dell warning?>>
Tony: The consensus with Dell is that, even though they are growing their enterprise market products, specifically servers and storage, it isn't fast enough. They live in the low end, e.g., the 2-way server area vs. 4-way and 8-way

Wishful thinking, don't you think, Tony? Nothing has changed in the server marketplace since DELL has predicted 30% growth, now 20%.

About the only new info DELL has is about the PERFORMANCE of the P4 and its PRODUCTION SCHEDULE.
