Gore has spent his entire life preparing himself for this moment in time. Everything he is or ever will be is vested in this election. He will never give in. He will try to take it any way he can. -dave

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that there is an arcane Florida statute left over from the days of the first experimental mechanization efforts that says a hand count takes precedence over machine counts. Maybe the strategy is to introduce more and more uncertainty and point up how inaccurate the system is, so we ought to throw it all out and go with 49 states, or with the popular vote. As I'm finishing this post: * Daley coming on TV right now, saying that the will of the people, NOT A COMPUTER GLITCH, should decide who is our next President.*
