I suppose that if blacks had originally equaled one person in the Constitution you would have been happy. If that had been the case, it would be possible to still own slaves even today. But you don't understand that do you?

If twfowler is watching, the Civil War is what was required to amend the constitution to deal with that bit of infallible wisdom from the founding fathers.

And in this case the constitution actually was amended and it was a good thing that it was. The fact that the civil war was necessary does not mean that the amendment was not.
