I think the approach to that level triggers a lot of knee-jerk dipster buying.

I have been trying to figure out how the markets can go down while mutual-fund inflows continue. Perhaps individual investors are selling individual stocks, but putting some money into funds in the belief that it's safer there.

When the mutual fund redemptions start, as they say--look out below.

Anybody think we might finally break down below that magic 3,000 NASDAQ number this time around?

Without a Gore concession, it's almost guaranteed.

Hopefully, some democrats will be pressuring him to cave in sometime this weekend for the good of the country.

If he doesn't, the crisis and financial damage he will inflict on the markets will make any presidency that he might gain a disaster.
