Dirk Meyer: "We expect to ship 1.5 GHz Palomino's by the end of Q2 next year..."

Nothing about 'in volume' or 'production levels' or anything, so 1.5 GHz is definitely postponed from Q1. Unless of course in this era of Paper Launches... <g>

A bit disconcerting.

Jay, Re: New AMD roadmap

acw.activate.net

Very interesting. Mustang has been cancelled but Palomino will take its place. We also have some cool new codenames: Thoroughbred, the 0.13 micron Palomino and Aapaloosa the 0.13 micron Morgan. Overall a encouraging roadmap except the low MHz ramp (while P4 performance will speak for itself most customers will only look at MHz and brandname).

This slide is also interesting:

Palomino 1.33 Ghz will be introduced early next quarter and 1 GHz in value (<$1000) will come in 2H 2001.
