I find the following contradictory:

- shipping 28 million units in 2000 and selling out of both Athlon and Duron processors this quarter - the company has confirmed that overall PC demand this quarter has been
disappointing.


Unless AMD is complaining about the prices they had to sell all the processors in Q4. The bottom line is that AMD decided to stay in place and not grow production and market share, the ASPs could be higher. But AMD absolutely has to grow the market share. Volume is our vaccine.
