Robert, I am sorry, i do not consider "winning the election" "personal gain. It is discharging the "will of the people". Nixon challenged many states counts and even to court in few cases. He did not go to court for the Cook county case since that would had been countered with Kennedy going to court for southern Illinois and he guessed that the two would cancel out. The point is that he did not concede until it was clear that challenges will be fruitless, even if e won the electorate, and that he conceded only after more than a month of haggling as they are haggling today. They should haggle and make sure that the will of the people is not subverted, it is very simple, IMHO.

Frankly with four other states (NM, IA, WI and OR and you may want to ad NH on the other side), it is important that the selection of the electoral college is not rushed undully. What are we afraid to find out?
