Jim, New Mexico has many different population groups. There are people of Spanish descent who have lived there for 500 years. There are people of Mexican descent. There are Native Americans who have been there for a really long time. There are thousands of PhD scientists at the National Labs. There are tens of thousands of engineers at the National Labs. Albuquerque is full of business people from other parts of the country. The Southern and Eastern part of the state is similar culture to west Texas. Trying to pigeonhole the population is pointless.
