pomp, if memory serve (and I was an outside observer from far away at the time), Nixon did not concede until well into December of 1960. I do not remember all the challenges and the reports were probably biased against Nixon, but I do remember that it took a long time and there were ups and downs for both the Kennedy and the Nixon forces. They did not report that too well in Israel, where I was at the time, and there was great fear that Nixon would continue the arm embargo on Israel as well as the fear that if the Soviets get into the Arab Israeli conflict, Nixon will follow Eisenhaur and yield to a soviet nuclear black mail as Eisenhaur did after the Suez adventure.
